Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

#HalfTheStory’s Teen Advisory Board consists of 30-40 teens from across the United States, ages 13-19, who join and lead monthly TAB meetings and participate in additional opportunities to support #HalfTheStory’s mission of empowering the next generation’s relationships with technology.

Teen advisors serve as thought leaders, design partners, and digital wellness connoisseurs, alongside the rest of the #HalfTheStory team. As such, we believe in compensating teen advisors for their time and expertise!

Being part of the #HTS Teen Advisory Board allowed me to see the intersection of tech, law, and social media, and it truly opened my eyes to the critical need for digital wellbeing advocacy. I'm excited to use my knowledge to make a positive impact on online communities.

The Teen Advisory Board has allowed me a platform for advocacy, mental health awareness, and the ability to aid the youth across America!

Being on the Teen Advisory Board has been such an inspiration. All of the youth advisors are so passionate and welcoming and it's great to know that our voices are making a difference in digital wellbeing.

All teens are eligible to apply to join the TAB! The application takes ~10 minutes and includes background information, as well as questions about teens’ visions for our digital future.

🌟 TAB MISSION STATEMENT

The #HTS Teen Advisory Board (TAB) works together to empower the next generation to shape a safer, kinder, and healthier digital world for everyone. Together, by uplifting diverse perspectives, embracing struggles, and driving strategic changes, TAB creates a supportive and empowering online environment where youth voices lead the way.

To achieve this mission, we will:

Amplify youth voices to build community, confidence, and agency among teens in digital spaces,

Forge partnerships across generations with policymakers, platforms, and the #HTS team to influence digital trends and policies; and

Advocate for a healthier, more supportive digital environment through targeted initiatives and powerful storytelling.
